BRAND SPOTLIGHT: EVERLANE
Everlane is a San Francisco-based clothing line that burst onto the fashion scene in 2010 touting ‘radical transparency’ in their manufacturing. They believe in knowing who’s making your clothes (knowing your factories) and understanding the real price (know your costs) while also being open to change (always ask why). Everlane started as an online only business, but has since expanded to two locations – a shop in NYC and a flagship store in San Francisco’s Mission.
I discovered Everlane at the suggestion of another blogger that I’ve been reading for years – Capitol Hill Style/The Work Edit – but was slow to fall in love. My first purchase was back in 2013 when I bought their dipped twill weekender bag; it’s a fabulous travel companion that my husband and I still use.
However, it wasn’t until Everlane launched their 100% Human campaign last year that I took a closer look. With a collection of tees and sweatshirts, Everlane donates $5 from the purchase of every 100% Human product to either the Human Rights Campaign, the ACLU, or Equality Now. I bought one right away.
Since then I’ve purchased a few more items(including this silk button down and this striped linen dress), but have many more on my wish list. With simple, classic designs for all seasons that will last for years, Everlane pieces can and will slowly overtake your closet. Thanks to their “radical transparency”, they’re able to offer higher quality pieces at a fraction of the cost – I mean, silk blouses and cashmere sweater for $100 or less!? I’ll have them all please, thanks. Take a look at a few of my faves and happy shopping!
