BEACH VACATION LOOKBOOK: VOL 2
A few weeks ago I posted about visiting Destin, Florida with along with packing tips for going there.
This is another look from my trip that I loved, along with a few suggestions of how to transition summer pieces when it starts to get a little chilly. I’m all about mixing pieces in the fall to get more wear out of your wardrobe.
Pops of Color
I am usually a neutral, warm tone, or smoky eye type of girl but in the past year I’ve started to experiment with pops of color in my makeup. This bright turquoise Stila liner was the perfect pop. I wore this look to a nice date out with my husband. It is pretty relaxed, so I wanted to use bright hues in my accessories and accent with my makeup. Below are the exact items I used to create this look, plus a dupe for the Stila liner if you are on a budget.
I wanted something I could throw on with anything. Pictures do no justices to these Aritzia pants IRL. The fabric is so beautiful. I got so many compliments while wearing them out. The top is comfy and I love the built in knot . There are so many times I’ve tied my top and just ended up changing mid day due to constantly fixing it. I bought this top in 3 colors.
Side note that I want to talk about with this look is body positivity. This past summer was filled with a few firsts for me. This is the first summer I wore a 2 piece suit since having my twins. It is also my first summer wearing a crop top or anything similar. This outfit was a huge plunge for me. I felt so self conscious when I stepped out of the house, but I received 3 compliments form strangers that day. It was a lesson learned to get out of my head and embrace my post- baby body!
Espadrilles That Are Actually Comfy
Okay I love espadrilles. I actually keep a pair or wedge ones I’ve had since college in my closet because they come in and out of style every 3 years or so. However, they hurt my feet so bad. I don’t know if it is the material that rubs my soles that hurts or what, but usually they bother me. I suffer though to feel stylish. We’ve all been there right?
Well earlier in the summer I ordered this pair of Splendid espadrille sandals. I started purchasing Splendid brand sandals a few years ago and haven’t stopped since. They are well made, worth the money, last forever, and are comfy.
This pair comes in multiple colors below.
Summer to Fall Transition Pieces
Fall is just around the corner (ugh) and for us on the east coast, it means we have approximately 4 weeks of warm weather left and its time for boots. I purposely created this post now though. I wanted to show that with a simple jacket and shoe change, you can wear your summer wardrobe for a bit longer. I’m all about stretching my wardrobe and closet where I can.
Below I listed a couple suede and faux- suede (for our animal conscious readers) moto- jackets that would be easy to throw over this tank. Also, a few low ankle booties with fun textures to finish out the look.
