We love award’s shows here at 16th & B. Something about old Hollywood glamour pulls at our heart strings. This year did not disappoint in the least. So many fierce looks, it was a lot to comb through in a good way.  So, I’m recapping my top look of the night, and talking trends I’m loving.

Lady Gaga is hands down my top pick for the night. She freaking brought it!!!! I have been a serious stan for her since 2008, and even with the meat dress she has never disappointed me.

She always has intention in her pieces and there is never a detail missed. This Valentino Couture gown is an ode to Judy Garland’s character in the 1954 version of A Star is Born.

Not only did she channel her cinematic predecessor, she did it in a very Gaga way. With icy blue hair and not covering her tattoos, she stayed true to herself. Not to mention her makeup and those diamonds! I seriously can’t stop reading about this look.

It was hard to narrow down all of my favorites. I loved how imaginative, bold, and timeless most of the looks were.

Here are my top trends I hope are here to stay from GGA 2019.

Intricate Beading

L-R: Sofia Carson in Giambattista Valli/ Lupita Nyong’o in custom Calvin Klein

When done right this can look stunning. Usually ruffles, beading, and all the frills with Sofia Carson’s dress are too much. In this case, I think it is done right. This look reminds me of classic Chanel, but with a modern twist. The playful details, paired with simple hair and a classic red lip are the perfect combo.

Lupita never misses! I think she is an award show favorite for me each and ever time. this cobalt blue Calvin Klein piece is dreamy.

Daring Makeup

Lupita Nyong’o at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Not only is Lupita’s look up there on my list this year, her  makeup is my favorite. With electric blue mascara and eye liner she slayed. I listed products below on how to recreate this look. Also, I found the exact lip she used below. (Shade 507)

Dreamy Tulle

L-R: Kiki Lane in Custom Dior/ Constance Wu in Vera Wang

Both of these stunning women are rocking a structured bodice with creamy shades of tulle. There were shades of this  look throughout the globes, but I feel these women did it best. I love the one shoulder detail Kiki Lane is wearing. Also, the simplicity of the velvelty burnt orange ribbon worn by Constane Wu is perfection.

Long Sleeve Metallic

L-R: Lucy Boynton in Celine/ Nicole Kidman in Michael Kors

I am seriously loving the retro 70’s glamour these two women are serving. The hues of gold and deep jewel-toned magenta are giving me life.

Lucy Boynton’s look is up there on my list. I love that one she is not stick thin but healthy, and chose a dress to accentuate her body type. Her smoky eye is fierce and platinum lob is hair goals.

I know Nicole Kidman is on a mix of both worst and best dressed lists this year, but I love this dress on her! She always takes a risk. Remember the green Gucci bird dress from a few years ago? Kidman always goes for the risk and I love her for her. The biggest criticism I’ve read/watched is everyone is saying her bow and purse are “too young” for her. Well, I say eff the ageism. Wear what you want when you want ladies.
