BOLD AND BRIGHT STATEMENT LIP COLORS

A bold lip is such a quick and easy makeup look that can really make a statement. So when you feel like changing up your look or trying something new, it’s a great place to start. And with fall finally upon us (and holiday parties right around the corner!), I wanted to share some of my favorite bold lip colors. We’ve got finishes in satin, matte, cream, and glossy, and shades that are universally flattering in a range of price points – so there really is something for everyone. COLOURPOP Ultra Satin Lip in Virginia ($6) – The first time I saw this color I was a little bit nervous. In the tube it looks like a too bright purple-y fuchsia, but when applied, it’s a gorgeous deep violet-plum and I absolutely love it. This is my new favorite shade and will serve as a perfect pop of color against my neutral fall/winter wardrobe. The satin lip is super pigmented, but you might want to re-apply after dinner or drinks. Prep for a longer wear with this Lippie Primer.

COLOURPOP Ultra Matte Lip in Avenue ($6) – Colourpop makes some of the best liquid matte lip products on the market – they’re highly-pigmented, long-wearing, and soft. Paired with a complementary lip liner (in Lady) this beautifully dark brick red is bold yet flattering on all skin tones. Of course you’re probably wondering if this matte lippie is drying…surprisingly, it’s actually not. Exfoliate then prep with a little balm and liner then you’re good to go!

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Charlotte ($34) – ​This dramatic oxblood burgundy is the quintessential fall hue; it’s a happy (and flattering) middle ground between red and plum. Gorgeous and creamy and moisturizing and long-wearing – it’s truly a proper lipstick. And for some reason, rocking a lippie this stunning really makes me feel like I have my life together.

TOM FORD Patent Finish Lip Color in Exposed ($54) – I have this same lippie in Ravageur (a deep cherry red) and I love how the product goes on ultra glossy, yet finishes to a long-lasting stain. So when I saw this beautiful dark berry shade, I knew I had to add it to this post! In total contrast to the other lip products, the TF Patent Lip is super lightweight and would be perfect for a bold day look.
