I’ve been going to regular microdermabrasion sessions lately and OMG, it’s my new favorite thing. My skin has never looked healthier. It’s just so glow-y afterward, I’m seriously obsessed. (Not sure glow-y is a real word, but let’s roll with it.)
Microderm is not unlike the exfoliating we all do at home anyway, but the process is a little more intense, so proper hydration and moisturizing after a microderm sesh is super important. Which brings me to the point of this whole post – to tell you about this freaking amazing Skinceuticals Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Intensifier serum!
I’ve been using the Skinceuticals HA serum (recommended by my aesthetician, Julie) for almost a month as part of my routine and I absolutely love it. Like I said earlier, hydration is key after stripping away layers of skin, so she suggested this to make sure I was getting all the moisture needed after a good scrub.
Honestly, this stuff makes my skin just feel so dang good. It gives a perfect boost of moisture without that greasy or oily feeling that can happen if you use a moisturizer that’s too heavy. Even on days where I’m feeling lazy, I can just apply the HA, throw on some SPF, and I’m good to go. However, the biggest change that really convinced me that this product is the real deal is that it makes that post-facial, post-microderm glow last so much longer!
By using this serum every day, my skin is healthier, hydrated and looks smoother, period.
Now, there are lots of great HA products out there and this is just the first one I’ve tried, but trust that regardless of brand, an HA serum will be part of my skincare routine for life. As a bonus, I rounded up a few other top rated products below that I’m excited to try. Happy serum shopping!
Peace + love,
Mila
Brief side note: Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance already in the body that lubricates joints and helps make up connective tissue; it’s even in our eyes. Okay, but how is that relevant to skincare? Right – HA can hold up to 1,000 times it’s weight in water – which makes it a moisturizing all-star. Want to learn more about hyaluronic acid?
