THE $18 AMAZON DRESS YOU NEED

Figuring out what to wear as the weather transitions from humid to warm to cold is always tricky. One of my favorite pieces for this type of seasonal challenge is the fitted tank midi dress.  While I love rocking these dresses all summer, they are actually endlessly versatile and can be paired with everything from slides or sneakers and denim jackets to heels or ankle boots and sweaters – the ultimate transitional wardrobe staple because it’s such a great layering base. So with that in mind, I recently picked up two of these super affordable cotton racerback tank midi dresses that I found on Amazon.

My original plan was to buy this $88 Michael Stars option for my Portugal vacation, but I figured I didn’t have anything to lose trying the discount version first. Also, the two-day Prime shipping is a no-brainer. Anyway, I’m so glad I tried the $18 version instead because it’s pretty damn awesome and let’s be real for minute, Amazon is killing it lately with some seriously good stuff. The dress is made of a heavier cotton fabric so it’s a bit more flattering and does a much better job hiding food babies than other dresses I’ve tried. The cut is also wider in the hips so it’s great for curvier girls, too.

I ordered the black version in medium and an olive version in small. According to their size guide, I’m between sizes, but both are still really comfortable. It’s definitely a midi dress though as the hems fall at and below my knees. For reference I’m about 5’6” so for shorter ladies, hemming might be necessary, but at this price point, it’s totally affordable and definitely worth a try!
